Mrs. Dorothy Belle Gulledge Earnhardt, 96, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at her home in Kannapolis.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, September 30, 2024, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Shawn Beaver will officiate. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:45 pm Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Dorothy was born August 24, 1928 in Mt. Croghan, SC. She was a daughter of the late Lee Harrison Gulledge and Ethel Martha Rushing Gulledge. She worked in the bookkeeping department at Carolina Tire Company in Concord and later worked at JC Penney at Carolina Mall where she retired. She was an active member of Boulevard Chapel as long as her health permitted. She also was a member of the Gideons International Women's Auxiliary Kannapolis Camp.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Terry Earnhardt; two sisters, Edna Lee Turner and Elma G. Kelly; and a great granddaughter, Carrie Lynn Davis.
Dorothy is survived by two sons, David Earnhardt and wife Katheryn and Eric Earnhardt and wife Tonya, all of Kannapolis; five grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
