Dorothy E. Karriker

Mrs. Dorothy E. Karriker, 76, of 9010 Sorrow Farm Road, Kannapolis, died Friday, March 19, 2004 at Avante at Concord. Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2004, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Gary Posey and the Rev. Bobby Sutherland will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 2004, at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at their respective homes. Born August 23, 1927, in Lenoir City, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late Henry Skinner and Gertrude Butler Skinner. She was formerly employed in Cannon Mills. She also had worked in local convenience stores. Her husband, Jackson Perry Karriker, preceded her in death in 1977. Survivors include a daughter, Janice Heglar and her husband, Douglas, of Rockwell; a son, James Lambert of Kannapolis; one sister, Mary Kimray of Mt. Pleasant; a brother, Linwood Butler of Kannapolis; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
