Dorothy A. Lake

Mrs. Dorothy A. Lake, 87, of Rockwell, died Saturday, October 17, 2009, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast. Funeral services will be conducted at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Tom Sandquist will officiate. Interment will follow at the Salisbury National Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Born April 19, 1922 in Collingswood, NJ, Mrs. Lake was the daughter of the late Robert S. Armstrong and Grace Mattram Armstrong. She was a pastor's wife and homemaker. She was a member of Concord Bible Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Milton Lake; a son, Robert V. Lake; and a brother, Robert T. Armstrong. Survivors include two daughters, Jean Commerford and husband Tom of Kannapolis, Nancy Gibson and husband Bill of Ventnor, NJ; a daughter-in-law, Debra Wesley of Vero Beach, FL; nine grandchildren, Wendy Clark, Joe Commerford, Kyle Commerford, Tara Molles, Christopher Gibson, Stephanie Gibson, Robert Drew Lake, Jessica Lake and Jason Wesley; and seven great-grandchildren.
