I'm really surprised memories have not crashed this tribute page!
Dott McBride. Even the name brings a smile! To know her was to love her!! I know I sure did!!
Every art or craft she ever saw, she'd say she wanted to learn it! I don't think there was any she did not master!
My favorite memory was our first trip to Shipshewana, Indiana- a small Amish town with an enormous outdoor flea market, near the Michigan state line. After rescheduling several times, we were finally on our way. Tuesday, Sept. 11. After the horrors of that morning, we caught up on the news. But the star-filled night was peaceful and serene, and we knew God was with us. She called me every Sept. 11 after that.
"I'd like to say"... the world is a little less bright without my dear friend. Truth is, the love she gave us all, always, but especially her last 2 weeks with us, have left me even more appreciative of her. She had tried SO hard to keep her quality of life, even with so many challenges. She was finally "done", not willing to endure her ever-diminishing health any longer, but was EAGER to finally reap her just rewards, to enter the embrace of her Lord and family and friends (and dogs!), for all eternity. Just hours after she left her failing, earthly body, we saw the full moon. It was a clear sign, to me, that she was in the heavens, and there was great celebration that she had arrived!
I already miss her, but I'm reveling in memories and the love she shared with everyone she met. Can't you just hear it? "WELL DONE, good and faithful servant! WELL DONE!!"
