I’m so sorry for your loss of a great man, father and friend. Your dad was a great friend to both my parents Rev CT Chegwin and Marlene. Pastor Ryan attended my dad’s funeral on the east coast and spoke in service. He always sang to me “in my heart there rings a Melody”. Such an old song by today’s standards!! I had no idea pastor Ryan passed away. I’m truly sorry.

We were saddened to hear the news of your Dad. He was very instrumental in my life growing up at Chula Vista A/G. I remember when the family first arrived; I was in sixth grade. One story I've shared with people tens of times is when we were in the building program. Whenever we had a financial need for the building program, your Dad would ask a missionary to come speak. He encouraged the church to give generously and sacrificially to the missionary. EVERY TIME, God miraculously met the needs of the church. I think that happened 13-14 times. It was so exciting to see God's work in action and His faithfulness to us. We loved your Dad. Our prayers are with you that God will comfort and strengthen you as you travel this road. Praise God we know your Dad is rejoicing with the Heavenly Hosts. I'm sure both our Dad's are having one of their long talks right about now, too! They loved each other.
So many memories of Pastor Ryan!! He was our pastor in Chula Vista, CA. One thing I always appreciated about him was his willingness to be "vulnerable" .... not afraid to weep when the Spirit moved him. And not afraid to allow the Spirit to move and change the direction of the service. I miss that in pastors today. I also remember how, as he passed my daughters, he would "lay hands" on their heads and say, "Lord, let them grow!" This is because he knew when they outgrew their clothes, Tracy would be getting them. That memory always makes me smile! I know he will be greatly missed by all of you .. Wanda, Bobby, Debbie, & Tracy and all of his grandchildren. May God cover you with His peace and surround you with His comfort.
