Dwight Edward Poston's Obituary
Mr. Dwight Edward Poston, 69, passed away on the evening of Monday, November 5, 2018. He was born on July 14, 1949 to the late Hughes Brown Poston and Leona Elizabeth Burris Poston in Iredell County.
Dwight worked in the banking industry for most of his life and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam from 1969-1970. Dwight loved life and his family; he always kept everyone updated on the Braves and Panthers with his text messages! Despite having multiple back surgeries and other health concerns over the past few years, Dwight kept a positive attitude and enjoyed living life to the best of his ability.
Dwight will truly be missed by his wife of 24 years, Beverly Poston; children, Philip Poston (Gina), Lori Pacheco (Danny), Daniel Pender (Mandy), Jami Hardison, Kelci Sharp (Glen); sisters, Annie Lucas and Vanessa Crowe (Ronnie); 4 granddaughters; 1 grandson, and 1 great-grandson. Dwight was preceded in death by his brother Ralph Poston, brother-in-law Willis Lucas, and grandson Stephen Poston.
Dwight has provided us a lifetime of wonderful memories – we will greatly miss his sense of humor and caring personality.
Please join us at Gilwood Presbyterian Church in Concord for a graveside service to share stories and memories this Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 3:00 pm. The Reverend Nathan Wheeler and Dwight's niece Mrs. Brandy Helton will officiate. Music provided by Mr. Jack Cross. Everyone is welcome.
