Edmund Bernard Cook

February 20, 1937 — November 13, 2021

Mr. Edmund Bernard "Bernie" Cook, 84, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Mike Roper will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm Saturday prior to the service.

Bernie was born February 20, 1937 in Cabarrus County. He was the son of the late Charles Bethel Cook and Martha Wingard Cook. Edmund was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Stokes Masonic Lodge #32 A.F. & A.M. in Concord and also a member of the Oasis Shriners in Charlotte for 50 years. He was an avid Wolfpack fan and gun enthusiast and was also a proud member of the NRA. Edmund retired from Morrison Knudsen Construction Company in Charlotte where he was a Civil Engineer and Construction Manager.

Edmund is survived by his wife Beverly Becker Cook; two daughters, Merrie Beth Baker and husband Rodney of Concord and Martha Carol McDowell and husband Kenney of Greensboro; two sisters, Kathryn Kincaid of Concord and Ruth Fountain of Albany, GA; and one grandson, Justin Adam Baker of Concord.
