Edna Fox Hinson

Mrs. Edna Fox Hinson, 93, of Granite City, Illinois, and formerly of Kannapolis, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009, in Granite City. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Greenlawn Cemetery in China Grove. The Rev. Allen Reid will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery. Born September 14, 1915 in Newton, NC, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Fox and Lillie Pearl Holdbrook Fox. Mrs. Hinson was a retired employee of Cannon Mills Plant No.4 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cullen Hubert Hinson; four sisters and four brothers. Survivors include her son, Robert G. "SGT" Hinson and wife, Dottie, of Granite City; one sister, Barbara Fox James and husband, Charlie, of Kannapolis, NC; one brother, Bobby Ray Fox and wife, Rena, of Landis, NC; four grandchildren, Cindy Hustedt, Susan Willett, Mark Hinson and James Hinson; and 11 great-grandchildren.
