Edna Louise Sipes

Mrs. Edna Louise Pethel Sipes, 90, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016, at Five Oaks Manor in Concord.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at Sharon Baptist Church. Dr. James Strickland will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm Wednesday at Sharon Baptist Church.

Mrs. Sipes was born April 4, 1925 in Mooresville, NC. She was the daughter of the late Henderson R. Pethel and Willie Belle Murdoch Pethel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Paul Sipes; and brother, Raymond Pethel.

Mrs. Sipes is survived by brother, Ray J. Pethel and wife, Susie, and their daughter, Gwendolyn Barbee, all of San Antonio, TX; and a number of other nieces and nephews.
