Effie W. Mullis, 89, of Concord, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Carolinas Health Care System-Northeast. A celebration of her life will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 30th, at Epworth United Methodist Church. The R Read Obituary

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. My mother, Edith Chappell, attended nursing school with Effie and Mom loved the "party girl" get togethers the ladies enjoyed during their retirement years. My Mom passed away just recently on October 22nd. I hope they have met again in heaven.

What a lovely lady Effie was! She was a pillar in our community and a shining light in Concord Middle School. She always had a smile and a good word for teachers. Heaven has a new angel.
