Eloise Rivers Hurst

Eloise Olivia Rivers Hurst, 88, of 548 Eastway Drive, Kannapolis, died Friday, March 20, 2009, at her home. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2009, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Marler Starnes and the Rev. Chuck Halipilias will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the home. Born October 12, 1920 in Ruby, SC, she was the daughter of the late Herman Rivers and Wilma Jordan Rivers. She retired from the Sheet Department of Cannon Mills and Woody's Curb Market. Mrs. Hurst was a former active member of Calvary Assembly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow H. "Woody" Hurst; and a son, Jerry H. Hurst. Survivors include two daughters, Joyce H. Norwood and husband, Dale, of Kannapolis, Diane H. Jones and husband, Robert, of China Grove; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
