Mrs. Emma Stacks Northam, 71, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

Emma was born January 9, 1955 in Lancaster, SC. She was a daughter of the late Clifford Carl Stacks and Annie Aldridge Stacks.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Ray Starnes; three sisters, Linda Starnes, Patricia Stacks, and Faye Dean Stacks; brother, James Stacks; and grandson, Matthew Northam.

Emma is survived by daughter, Debbie Northam; son, Michael Northam, both of China Grove; sister, Doris Woody of Kannapolis; brother, Earl Stacks of Spencer; four grandchildren, Ashley Deaton and husband Jonathan of Kannapolis, Krista Carter of Denton, Brandy Moore and husband Matthew of Salisbury, and Eric Northam of Kannapolis; and 20 great grandchildren.
