Enouch Turner

Mr. Enouch "Pete" Turner, 86, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2013, at CMC-NorthEast in Concord.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, November 25, 2013, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jimmy Barrett will officiate. Interment with military funeral honors will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 pm Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mr. Turner was born October 9, 1927 in Thomasville. He was a son of the late L.S. Turner and Bertha Bean Turner. Pete was a US Navy Veteran and served during World War II and afterwards was Retired Military of the U.S. Air Force. After retiring from service, he worked for and retired from Concord Telephone Company.

Pete was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church that his father organized and was a member of Gideons International West Cabarrus Camp. Pete loved racing, woodworking and working on his Volkswagon Rail Buggy. He also loved golf and became a member of the Hole in One Club in the 90’s.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Turner Talley and his brother James Edward Turner.

Mr. Turner is survived by his wife of 61 years, Edna Gulledge Turner; daughter, Pam Turner Lindley and husband John E. of Kannapolis; son, Mike Steven Turner of Concord; two sisters, Mildred Turner Lamb of Kannapolis and Elizabeth “Libby” Turner Benton and husband Jim of Concord; five grandchildren, John “Todd” Lindley and wife Kate, Tony Keith Lindley and Jill, Joshua “Josh” Adam Turner and wife Lindsey, Crystal Lindley McKenzie and husband Matthew and Kayla Kathleen Turner and Jacob; three great grandchildren, Leila Ann Turner, Liam Brian McKenzie and Leah Aubrey Smith.

Memorial contributions may be made to Poplar Grove Baptist Church Life Center Fund, 3476 Poplar Tent Road, Concord, NC 28027 or to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
