Mrs. Esther Roxie Miller Jones, 93, of Pleasant Avenue, passed away Friday, January 20, 2012, at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, January 23, 2012, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor John B. Tucker will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 pm Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jones was born April 3, 1918 in Rowan County. She was a daughter of the late Ron Miller and Laura Lambert Miller. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church. Esther loved animals of all kinds. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Quincey Jones, in 1994; daughter, Bonnie Bell Bare; son, Ronald Lee Jones; and a number of brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Jones is survived by two daughters, Donail Cline and husband Cecil of Cleveland, NC and Amanda Cline and husband Alton of Salisbury; two sons, John Quincey Jones, Jr. of Kannapolis and Joe Jones and wife Patty of Cleveland, NC; two sisters, Stella Guffy of Salisbury and Joan Pespolity of Florida; four brothers, Harold Miller of Statesville, Earl Miller of Spencer, David Miller and Marvin Miller, both of Rockwell; ten grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the nurses, CNA�s and the staff of Liberty Commons in Salisbury and friends for their love, care and support.
