Mrs. Ethel Perry Duvall, 77, a resident of Durham, and formerly of Kannapolis, died Wednesday, February 11, 2004, at Durham Regional Hospital. Services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2004, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Leon Hawks will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. At other times they will be at their respective homes. Mrs. Duvall was born July 2, 1926, near Sparta, in Allegheny County, North Carolina. She lived with her parents and nine brothers and sisters. She moved to Kannapolis where she worked in Cannon Mills for more than 25 years. She was married to Lee Vaughn Duvall and raised a son and daughter. After the death of her husband, she moved to Durham, NC where she lived until her death. Survivors include a son, Roylee Duvall of Durham; a daughter, Tammy Jones Smith of Salisbury; three grandchildren, Emma Duvall, David Smith and Tabitha Smith; one brother, Fletcher Perry of Salisbury; and two sisters, Charlotte Lewis of Granite Falls, NC and Joyce Smith of Seven Valleys, Pennsylvania.
