Mrs. Eula Faggert Goodnight, 98, of 1200 Fairway Drive, Kannapolis, died Saturday, January 14, 2006, at Liberty Commons Nursing Center in Salisbury. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2006, at First Presbyterian Church. Dr. Joe Crawford will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home and from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the church. At other times they will be at the residence where they will greet friends from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Born July 25, 1907, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Caldwell Faggert and Annie Krimminger Faggert. She worked for many years in the Sewing Room and retired several years ago from the Set Department of Cannon Mills. She was an active and devoted member of First Presbyterian Church where she and her husband, the late James G. Goodnight, served as custodians. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Goodnight, who died February 14, 1999; a son, Jack M. Goodnight; a granddaughter, Donna Goodnight Little; and five brothers. Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Goodnight Satterwhite and husband, Thomas, of Salisbury; a son, Bill G. Goodnight and wife, Bonnie, of Kannapolis; a sister, Mable Schenck of Salisbury; one brother, Caleb Faggert of Rockwell; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Harvie Chisholm of Kannapolis and Hazeleen Faggert of Rockwell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Presbyterian Church, Elevator Fund, 201 Vance Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
