Eva Reynolds Gatton

Mrs. Eva Reynolds Gatton, 90, a resident of Charlotte Healthcare in Charlotte, and formerly of Field Avenue in Kannapolis, died Saturday, August 3, 2002 at Charlotte Healthcare. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 PM Monday, August 5, 2002, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Ralph Adams will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 PM Monday at the funeral home. At other times they will be at the residence. Born June 7, 1912, in Richmond County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Claude C. Reynolds and the late Henrietta Rainwater Reynolds. Mrs. Gatton retired several years ago, after 44 years of service, from the sewing room of Cannon Mills, Plant One. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bailey S. Gatton; a daughter, Iris Gatton Morgan; and a son, Richard Gatton. Survivors include a brother, William T. "Bill" Reynolds of Kannapolis; three granddaughters, Bobbye Casper of Atlanta, GA, JoLynn Morgan of Concord, Rebecca Denton of Raleigh; two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
