Evelyn Ella Clark Barnhardt

Mrs. Evelyn Ella Clark Barnhardt, 87, of 2112 Lane Street, died Sunday, March 8, 2009, at CMC-NorthEast in Concord. A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at Second Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 2:45 pm Tuesday at Second Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Barnhardt was born July 12, 1921 in Ruby, SC. She was a daughter of the late Daniel Clark and Ella Sullivan Clark. She retired from the spinning room of Cannon Mills Plant 4 where she worked as a spinner. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther C. "Slim" Barnhardt; three sisters, Azilee Steen Boyd, Geraldine Simpson, and Ellen Clark; and one brother, Wilson Clark. Mrs. Barnhardt is survived by a niece, Doris Branton of Kannapolis; two nephews, Charles Steen and wife, Barbara of Concord and Dennis Simpson and wife, Adulu of Jefferson, SC; great niece and caretaker, Angela M. Morris and husband Jerry of Enochville; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the Second Presbyterian Church, 1578 Dale Earnhardt Boulevard, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
