Evelyn Porter Daugherty

Mrs. Evelyn Porter McLaughlin Daugherty, 91, passed away Friday, May 15, 2015, at Big Elm Nursing Center in Kannapolis.

A funeral service is scheduled for 3 pm Monday, May 18, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Landis. Dr. Jarrod Lanning will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church prior to the service.

Mrs. Daugherty was born August 19, 1923 in Mooresville, NC. She was the daughter of the late David Calvin McLaughlin and Minnie Olla Kerr McLaughlin. She worked for Linn-Mills as a lab tech and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Landis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Moore Daugherty and all her brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Daugherty is survived by her daughter, Brenda Talbert and husband, Steve, of Landis, and granddaughter Amy Talbert.
