Evie Lee Jenkins

Mrs. Evie Lee Horne Jenkins, 94, of Turkey Road, passed away Saturday morning, June 29, 2013 at Five Oaks Manor.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm, Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Genesis Baptist Church. The Rev. Gene Edwards will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:15 pm prior to the service at Genesis Baptist Church.

Mrs. Jenkins was born on March 8, 1919 in Chesterfield County, SC. She was a daughter of the late Benjamin F. Horne and Annie Steen Horne. Currently a member of Genesis Baptist Church, she was a charter member at Lane Street Baptist Church for 50 years. Mrs. Jenkins has spent her entire life in the service of her Lord and her church as Bible School Director, Nursery Coordinator, Sunday School teacher, choir member as well as many other church activities. She was also a special caregiver to many of her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Grover Jenkins; and son, Harry E. Jenkins.

Mrs. Jenkins is survived by son, Richard Jenkins and wife Karen; daughter-in-law, Marleen Jenkins; five grandchildren, Darren Jenkins and wife Jennifer, Matt Jenkins and wife Kristen, Adrian Easley, Aprille Furr and husband Travis and Brent Easley and wife Kira; seven great grandchildren, Owen Jenkins, Kennedy Furr, London Jenkins, Tanner, Kaitlyn, Ivan and Alex Easley.
