Fannie Lee Critz Van Pelt

Mrs. Fannie Lee Critz Van Pelt, 99, of Kannapolis, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at Caremoor Retirement Center in Kannapolis. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, August 19, 2011, at Bethpage Presbyterian Church in Kannapolis. Rev. Ben Gurley will officiate. Interment will follow at Bethpage Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:00 pm Friday at the Church. Mrs. Van Pelt was born June 1, 1912 in Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Robert Dalton Critz and Frances Seabolt Critz. She was the oldest living member of Bethpage Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Reid Van Pelt and her nine brothers and sisters, Cecil, Rupert, Ralph, Ronald, Raymond, Cloid, Bernard, and Evelyn Critz and Cora Mae Horn. Mrs. Van Pelt is survived by daughter, Cathy Van Pelt Moore and husband, Jack and son, Reid Van Pelt and wife, Linda both of Kannapolis; granddaughter, Carrie Van Pelt Paxton and husband, Marty and grandson, Chip Van Pelt and wife, Julie; great grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Paxton and Reid and Ross Van Pelt and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Bethpage Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, 6020 Mooresville Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081. The family would like to thank the staff of Caremoor Retirement Center and Cabarrus County Hospice for all the caring and support given to the family and Mrs. Van Pelt making her more comfortable and happy in her last days.
