Mrs. Fannie Magdelene King Pharr, 92, formerly of Elwood Street, Kannapolis, died Wednesday, January 24, 2007, at Transitional Health Services. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Saturday, January 27, 2007, at Calvary Baptist Church. The Rev. Max Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 pm Friday at Lady's Funeral Home. Mrs. Pharr was born February 13, 1914, in Waxhaw, NC, to the late Samuel Rufus King and Sarah Missouri McManus King. She formerly worked for Belk Department Store and Isabell's Dress Shop in Kannapolis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Pharr. Mrs. Pharr is survived by two sons, Tommy Pharr and wife, Donna, of Charlotte and Ron Pharr and wife, Joan, of Chapel Hill; a special niece, Ruth Nash, and a special nephew, John Rufus King, both of Kannapolis; and three grandchildren, Jonathan and Andrew Pharr and Cristie Harkey. Memorials may be sent to Calvary Baptist Church, 703 Buick Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28083. The family would like to thank the staff of Transitional Health Services, for the loving care given to Mrs. Pharr while she was there.
