Mr. Feldman “Buster” William Yates, 65, of Concord, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at his home. He was born July 28, 1961, in Rowan County. He was a son of the late Harold Sharkey Yates and Annie Pauline Joyner Pinion.

Feldman was a proud United States Navy veteran. He served aboard USS Nassau (LHA-4). Following his military service, he worked for S&D Coffee for many years before his retirement. Outside of work, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures, such as watching football, chatting with friends, and spending time with his family. Buster had a special love for animals, especially his cat Gracie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Sharkey Lynn Yates and Randy Keith Yates; and nephew Brandon Russell Mauldin.

Feldman is survived by sister, Rhonda Yates Mauldin (Frank Hoyt II) of Salisbury; two nieces, Wendy Baucom (John Johnson) of McLeansville and Amber Mauldin (Jason Leatherman) of Woodleaf; four great nephews, Chase Baucom, Titan Leatherman, Zander Leatherman and Haze Leatherman; and numerous cousins.
