Frances Carolyn Whitley

Ms. Frances Carolyn Whitley, 80, formerly of Landis, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Five Oaks Manor in Concord.

A funeral service is scheduled for 4 pm Friday, March 11, 2016, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel in Kannapolis. Pastor Richard Smith will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm Friday at Lady’s Funeral Home prior to the service.

Ms. Whitley was born November 7, 1935 in Concord. She was the daughter of the late William Preston Whitley, Jr. and Gaynell Whitley. She retired from Linn Corriher Mill as a security officer. She was a member of Restoration Four Square Church in Rockwell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by both her brothers, Roger D. Whitley and Vernon Whitley, Sr.

Ms. Whitley is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Starnes and husband, Johnny, of Kannapolis; Carrie Callahan and husband, Christopher, of Rockwell, Teresa Tabycynski and husband, Thomas, of Michigan, and Tammy Towell and friend, Faith, of Sanford; a son, Norman Towell and wife, Sherry, of Salisbury; 16 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
