Franklin Eugene Johnson

Mr. Franklin Eugene Johnson, 91, of Plaza Ave., passed away Friday, November 18, 2011, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 21, 2011, at Jackson Park Pentecostal Holiness Church. Rev. Jimmy Barnhill will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:00 pm Tuesday prior to the service at Jackson Park Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mr. Johnson was born March 23, 1920 in Iredell County. He was a son of the late William Beacher Johnson and Ollie Fortner Johnson. He retired from Cannon Mills plant #16 where he was a machine fixer. Following retirement, he worked for Wackenhut Security and Food Lion Store 1284 on North Cannon Boulevard. He attended Jackson Park Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mr. Johnson was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp having served in World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Marie Johnson. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife Bonnie Lorene Millsaps Johnson; three sons, Jerry Johnson and wife Joann of Crawfordville, FL, Terry Triplett and wife Sheila of Kannapolis and Dennis Johnson of Kannapolis; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
