Mr. Fred Austin Lambert, 79, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Charity Baptist Church. Rev. Leonard Lindsey, Dr. R.J. Hammond and Rev. Ron Bushey will officiate. Mr. Lambert will lie in state from 1:30 to 2:00 pm at the church. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Friday, August 1, 2014, at Lady’s Funeral Home.
Mr. Lambert was born on September 15, 1934 in Anson County. He was a son of the late Fred Lee Lambert and Corrie Humphries Lambert. He was a foreman of the Weave Room at Cannon Mills. Mr. Lambert was a member of Charity Baptist Church and an avid fisherman.
Mr. Lambert is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Shirley Ewing Lambert; two daughters, Pattie L. Gaskey and husband Mike and Vickie L. Freeze and husband Doug, both of Kannapolis; son, Rick L. Lambert and wife Suzy of Salisbury; two sisters, Linda Blue and husband Eddie and Doris Ann Connell, both of Concord; brother, Vernon Lambert and wife, Mary Ann of Concord; six grandchildren, Chris and Jeff Kee, Justin and Courtney Gaskey, Nick Stamey and Jessica Bostian; and five great grandchildren, Emma Claire and Preston Kee, Zoe Bostian, Heidi and Nora Rodgers.
The family would like to especially thank all his friends at Hardees for all their love, support and prayer over the years.
