Fred Sheets

Mr. Fred Sheets Sr., 77, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Chris Pethel will officate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

The family will receive friends 12:30 to 1:30 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home prior to the service.

Mr. Sheets was born on February 18, 1935 in Ashe County. He was the son of the late William Roosevelt Sheets and Minnie Parsons Sheets. Mr. Sheets was a veteran of the US Navy. He was employed with G. G. Ray Construction as a Sheet Metal Fabricator. Fred was a member of Corriher Heights Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and he enjoyed the mountains. He was loved by his entire family and will be missed by his sons.

Mr. Sheets survivors include his sons, Fred Sheets, Jr. and William H. Sheets both of Kannapolis; sister, Dara Miller of Ashe County; eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchild.
