Mr. Frederick Julius Zucker, 81, passed away Friday, March 15, 2019, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1:30 pm Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jon Harless and Pastor Mike Roper will officiate. Interment with Military Honors is scheduled for 1:30 pm Friday at Cherokee Memorial Park in Canton, GA.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:15 pm Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mr. Zucker was born June 7, 1937 in Atlantic City, NJ. He was a son of the late Joseph Zucker and Gladys Susanick Zucker. He graduated from Miami University with a Bachelors Degree and acquired a Masters Degree at the UNC Charlotte. He retired as a teacher and counselor from A.L. Brown High School, where he was also involved in the DECA Club and was a volunteer at the school following his retirement. Mr. Zucker was a member of the Civitan Club for a number of years, and held many offices. He was a former Deacon. He formerly managed ZAYRE in Kannapolis, and also was a former member of the Jaycees.
Mr. Zucker is survived by his wife, Edith Bishop Zucker; three children, Sharon Renee Zucker-McMannes and husband Brian of Mt. Airy, Stephen Zucker of Canton, GA and Phillip Zucker of Kannapolis; one granddaughter, Adrienne Tipton and husband Chad of Weaverville; and three great grandchildren, Vannessa Page, Abraham Tipton and Trevor Tipton, all of Weaverville.
