Mrs. Nora Gage Howard Ellington, 92, a resident of Lexington Extended Care, and formerly of Brookview Avenue, Kannapolis, NC, died Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the care facility. A graveside service with interment to follow will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis. Dr. James Strickland will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11 a.m until noon Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home. Born October 22, 1917 in Ducktown, TN, she was the daughter of the late Jackson Grady Howard and Meg Nora Mason Howard. She was a member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church. Mrs. Ellington was a homemaker and formerly worked in the No. 2 Weave Room of Cannon Mills in Kannapolis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Julian Ellington. Survivors include a daughter, Judith E. "Judy" Ridenhour and husband Terry of Lexington, SC; a son, Charles Franklin "Frank" Ellington and wife Sandra of Longwood, NC; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
