George Lee Blackwelder

Mr. George Lee Blackwelder, 91, born June 9, 1923, passed away at home on Friday, February 27, 2015.

Mr. Blackwelder is survived by his two daughters, Judy McManus and husband, Bob, of Charlotte, Patti Bost and husband, Neal of Mt. Pleasant; son, Jerry Blackwelder and wife, Jill, of Kannapolis; four grandchildren, Amy Smith and husband, Eric, of Linden, Nathan Blackwelder and wife, Tammy, of Kannapolis, Ryan White and wife, Shana, of Norfolk, VA, Elizabeth Bost of Mt. Pleasant; six great-grandchildren, Hannah and Garret Smith, Marynda and Gabriel Blackwelder, Lili and Ella White; and one brother, Charles “Buddy” Blackwelder of Mt. Pleasant.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.

The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
