George King Litaker

Mr. George King Litaker, 81, passed away Saturday, August 09, 2014, at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Leon Hawks will officiate. Interment will follow at the Kannapolis Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:00 pm prior to the service at Lady’s Funeral Home.

Mr. Litaker was born on April 21, 1933, a son of the late John Kingsley Litaker and Rachel Upright Litaker. He retired from Cannon Mills where he worked in general maintenance.

Mr. Litaker is survived by his wife, Dora Wensil Litaker; daughter, Amanda Basinger and husband Mitchell, of Kannapolis; four sons, Johnny Litaker of Kannapolis, Donald Litaker of Mooresville, Tobby Litaker and wife Tammy, of Reevesville, SC and Chad Litaker and wife Donna, of Kannapolis; brother, Winston “Bill” Taylor Litaker and wife Loree of Kannapolis; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
