George Marshall Rumple, Sr.

Mr. George Marshall Rumple, Sr., 72, of 5790 Wright Road, Kannapolis, died Thursday, August 29, 2002, at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 1, 2002, at St. Enoch Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Mark Beam will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8:00 PM at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence. Born January 9, 1930, in Cabarrus County, he was a son of the late Frank Leslie Rumple and Mary Overcash Rumple. He retired several years ago as a prison guard with the North Carolina Department of Correction. Mr. Rumple was a member of St. Enoch Lutheran Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Debra "Debbie" Rumple, who died March 8, 1999. Survivors include his wife, Walla Morris Rumple; a daughter, Karen Rumple Duncan of Kannapolis; two sons, George Marshall Rumple, Jr. of Kannapolis, Steven Lynn Rumple, Sr. of Landis; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
