Grace Mccarver Babb

Mrs. Grace McCarver Babb, 91, of Hemlock Avenue, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, June 4, 2011, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ronnie Cooper and Rev. David Kerley will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 pm Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home. Mrs. Babb was born June 8, 1919 in Charlotte. She was a daughter of the late Gary A. McCarver and Jettie Anderson McCarver. She worked at Cannon Mills in the spooler room for 47 years. She attended Independence Square Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Cline James Babb; two sons, Gary Wayne Babb and Tonye Gene Babb. Mrs. Babb is survived by daughter, Sue Babb Bamberg of Kannapolis; two sisters, Betty Davis of Marshville and Lena Doster of Concord; three brothers, Harry McCarver of Baton Rouge, LA, Donald McCarver of Indian Trail and Johnny McCarver of Matthews; nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
