Grace Sheets

Mrs. Grace Viers Sheets, 93, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Big Elm Nursing Center.

The funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Friendship Freewill Baptist Church. Rev. Marler Starnes and Rev. George Morris will officiate. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 pm Tuesday at the church.

Mrs. Sheets was born January 12, 1920 in Ashe County. She was a daughter of the late Edward Viers and Virgie McGrady Viers. A homemaker, she attended Friendship Freewill Baptist Church and was a member of Peak Creek Church of the Bretheren in Laurel Springs, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Wade Sheets in May 1998; two daughters, Billie White and Eva Hunter; two brothers, Junior Viers and Eugene Viers; and one granddaughter, Janet Dixon.

She is survived by three daughters, Betty Evans of China Grove, Brenda Morris and Wanda Honeycutt, both of Kannapolis; two sisters, Nadine Oliver and Faye Church, both of Laurel Springs; two brothers, Ray Viers and J.E. Viers, both of Laurel Springs; ten grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
