Guy Lorine Bumgarner

Mr. Guy Lorine Bumgarner, 78, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011, at his residence. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, October 1, 2011, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Robert Thomas will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Friday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the home of son Tony Bumgarner, 230 Ivory Lane, China Grove, NC. Mr. Bumgarner was born December 27, 1932 in Cabarrus County. He was a son of the late Clinton Bumgarner and Lillie Russell Bumgarner. He retired from Fieldcrest Cannon where he had worked as a machine fixer. Mr. Bumgarner is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty Smith Bumgarner; daughter, Linda K. Bumgarner of China Grove; four sons, Thomas Allen Bumgarner and wife, Lisa of Monroe, Jerry Wayne Bumgarner of Mt. Pleasant, Frankie Eugene Bumgarner and Tony Ray Bumgarner and wife, Sheila both of China Grove; daughter-in-law, Kim Bumgarner; son-in-laws, Steven Sigmund and Ricky Delane Burris, Sr.; sisters, Frances Stewart of North Wilkesboro and Jeanette Marlow and husband, Ray of Kannapolis; brother, Hayden Bumgarner and wife, Sue of Kannapolis; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
