Guy Whitley Neal

Mr. Guy Whitley Neal, 83 years of age, of Concord, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017, at Morningside Assisted Living in Concord.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 am Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at All Saints' Episcopal Church in Concord. The Rev. Nancy L. J. Cox will officiate. Inurnment will immediately follow at in the Church’s Columbarium.

A reception for family and friends will be held in the Church’s Welcome Center after the service.

Mr. Neal was born July 24, 1933 in Cabarrus County. He was a son of the late Charlie Walker Neal and Shelby Pauline Bundy Neal. He honorably served his country and retired from the United States Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was a faithful member of All Saints’ Episcopal Church. He had been an active volunteer in his community working with the local food bank, Meals on Wheels and at NorthEast Medical Center.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marinelle Owens Neal in April 2010; son, Derek Hamilton Neal in August 2013; and also three brothers and one sister.

Mr. Neal is survived by his daughter, Stacie Neal of Virginia; brother, Lucian Neal of Winston-Salem; and several nieces and nephews.
