Guy Robert Williams, 63, of Faulkenbery Street, Pageland, and formerly of Kannapolis, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center-Union in Monroe. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Lady's Funeral Home. The Rev. Joel Dale will officiate. Interment will be private at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of a sister, Helen Moss, 2116 Bertha Street, Kannapolis. Born January 21, 1945 in Cabarrus County, Guy was the son of the late Robert Sharpe Williams and Mabel Miles Williams. A. graduate of A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis, he was the owner and operator of Sandhills Asphalt Company. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He attended First Baptist Church of Pageland. Survivors include a son, Guy Robert Williams III and wife, Jennifer, of Wilmington; two sisters, Phyllis Williams Beaver and husband Leonard, of China Grove, Helen Williams Moss and husband, Harlon, of Kannapolis; three granddaughters; and four nieces.
