Mrs. Guynell Sexton Pittman, a loving mother and grandmother, formerly of Landis, died Monday, June 21, 2010, at Autumn Care of Salisbury. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Wade "Tom" Lomax will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the home of a son, Boyd F. "Frankie" Pittman, Jr., 250 Joe Lentz Road, Salisbury. Born in Georgia on December 19, 1929, Guynell was the daughter of the late Dupree Sexton and Birdie Lee Martin Sexton. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Franklin Pittman, Sr.; loving daughter, Jackie Huffman; loving granddaughter, Tina Huffman; daughter, Irene Nichols; son, Tommy Lee Helms; two sisters, Bill Cheek and Charyln Brawley; and four brothers, Leon Sexton, Dwayne Sexton, Lanny Sexton and Haywood Sexton. Survivors include three sons, Boyd Franklin "Frankie" Pittman, Jr. and wife Pam of Salisbury, Billy Joe Helms and wife Marlene of Norwood, Larry Wayne Pittman and wife Carolyn of Ellerbe; one sister, Blonie Puckett; a brother, Jack Sexton; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
