Harlon Reid Moss

Harlon Reid "Sonny" Moss, age 78, of Kannapolis died on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009 at CMC-NorthEast. Born December 29, 1930 in Kannapolis, Harlon was the son of the late Lyman Webster Moss and Elizabeth Stancil Moss. He was a retired employee of Fieldcrest Cannon Mills, and a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in the Korean Conflict. Harlon was an active member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday at North Kannapolis Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris O'Guin officiating. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at Lady's Funeral Home. Harlon is survived by his wife, Helen Williams Moss of the home; two daughters, Debbie Moss Hammonds and husband Steve, Leslie Moss Starnes and husband Greg; and three grandsons, Spencer Reid Starnes, Austin Correll Starnes and Isaac Moss Hammonds. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that memorials be sent to the Building Fund of North Kannapolis Baptist Church, 312 Locust Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081 in memory of Mr. Moss.
