Harold Wayne Cook

Mr. Harold Wayne Cook, 72, of 1444 Trotters Ridge, Kannapolis, a loving husband, father and grandfather, died Sunday, August 10, 2008, at CMC-NorthEast. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Steve Beam will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. Military rites will be conducted by the U.S. Army. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, August 11, 2008, at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the home. Born February 22, 1936 in Rowan County, he was the son of the late William Pritchard Cook and Vernie Price Cook. He retired as an auto body technician with City Chevrolet in Charlotte. Harold was a veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, William Pritchard Cook, Jr., Earl E. Cook, James Ray Cook and Robert R. Cook; and a grandson, Nicholas Wayne Cook. He will be loved and missed by his wife, Carrie (Carol) Ledbetter Cook; a daughter, Cindy Cook Calvert and husband, Gordon, of Kannapolis; two sons, Harold Wayne Cook, Jr. and wife, Kelly, of Kannapolis, and Christopher Scott Cook of China Grove; and three grandchildren, Marty Calvert, Brandon Calvert, and Bethany Calvert.
