Harold Edward Peacock

Mr. Harold Edward Peacock, 84, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016, at Carolinas Healthcare System - NorthEast in Concord.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, March 31, 2016, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Chuck Overcash will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis with Military Honors conducted by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mr. Peacock was born March 9, 1932 in Cabarrus County, NC. He was the son of the late Roy Peacock and Viola Shuffler Peacock. He retired from Cannon Mills as a supervisor after 39 years, and also retired as a sergeant with the Department of Corrections. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of Prince of Peace Free Will Baptist and the Allen-Graham Masonic Lodge #695 AF&AM. Mr. Peacock enjoyed fishing, and, along with his neighbor, Royce Scarborough, liked to “tinker” with many things.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Betty Archie.

Mr. Peacock is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ethel Peacock; daughter, Barbara Benfield and husband Steve of Kannapolis; sister, Patty Wright of Concord; grandson, Craig Benfield and wife Candeis of China Grove; great-granddaughter, Autumn Benfield; and great-grandson, Mason Benfield.
