Harry Wayne Bentley, 69, a loving husband, father and pawpaw went to see Jesus Sunday morning, October 26, 2014, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Harry was born March 22, 1945 in Cabarrus County, a son of the late James Roscoe Bentley and Dovie Ann Bentley. Harry attended the Rowan County Schools and worked in Cannon Mills in Kannapolis for 20 years. He was owner of Harry W. Bentley Construction – Custom Built Homes, a job he loved.
He enjoyed going on fishing trips to the Outer Banks with his family and being outside. He was a member of Kannapolis West A Church of God.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Myra Craig Bentley; two daughters, Lisa Bentley-Hawks (Rusty) of China Grove and Kelly Cole (Jeff) of Rockwell; two sons, Harold Bentley (Miranda) and Michael Loftis (Jessie), both of Kannapolis; eleven grandchildren, Hannah, Abigail and Phoebe Cole, Zaiden and Declan Bentley, Michael, Rylan and Aaralyn Loftis, Jesse, Alex and Garrett Hawks; special friend, Donnie Haynes; sister, Shirley Correll (Sonny) of Salisbury; two brothers, Larry Bentley (Mary Sue) of Kannapolis and Randy Bentley (Robbie) of Rockwell; sister-in-law, Jennie Wyrick (Doug) of Mooresville; and brother-in-law, Hank Craig of Rockwell.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, October 31, 2014, at Kannapolis West A Church of God. Pastor Sam Crisp, Dr. Greg Sloop, Jeff Cole and Harold Bentley will officiate. Interment will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens in Rockwell. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 pm Thursday, October 30, 2014, at Kannapolis West A Church of God.
