Mr. Harry Wiley Ingram, 84, of 1929 Concord Lake Road, Kannapolis, died Thursday, January 8, 2004, at the VA Medical Center in Salisbury, after a number of years of declining health and a serious illness of one month. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2004, at the VA National Cemetery in Salisbury. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence. Born October 7, 1919, in Red River, SC, he was a son of the late Thomas Ingram and Allee Walden Ingram. Mr. Ingram served in the US Marine Corps during World War II and retired several years ago from Cannon Mills in Kannapolis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Luther Thomas Ingram and a sister, Beatrice Walters. Survivors include a daughter, Hilda Messer and her husband, Bobby, with whom he made his home; two sons, Fred Allen Ingram of Kannapolis and Harry Lance Ingram; seven grandchildren, Ronda Woods, Michael Beaver, Randy Yates, Amanda Ingram, Lance Ingram, Tina Ingram and Gary Wayne Davison; ten great-grandchildren, Brandon Shepherd, Brett Shepherd, Anna Yates, Randy Wayne Yates, Jr., Buddy Yates, Courtney Beaver, Brianna Beaver, Ashley Beaver, Michael Beaver and Chelsea Woods; two nieces, Anna Corntassel and Linda Purser; and three nephews, Floyd Walters, Ricky Ingram and Jerry Ingram. The family would like to thank the staff at the William G. "Bill" Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury for all the care and kindness shown to Mr. Ingram during his illness.
