Mr. Harvey Lee Overcash, 86, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at Providence Baptist Church. in Harrisburg. Rev. Rody Carland will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 pm Tuesday prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Overcash was born February 9, 1931 in Charlotte, NC. He was a son of the late Lee Wilburn Overcash and Mary Josephine Frye Overcash. He was a truck driver with PIE Trucking Company. Harvey was a member of Providence Baptist Church, Harrisburg. He was a member of Derita Masonic Lodge # 715 A.F. & A.M. and Scottish Rite and was a life member of the Oasis Temple, where he drove four wheelers for the Dune Cats. He was also a Past President and Charter Member of the Mecklenburg Shrine Club. Harvey enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and enjoyed traveling with his wife. Harvey was a US Navy Veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Whitlow.
Mr. Overcash is survived by his wife, Kaye Bonds Overcash; a son, Curtis Overcash and husband Darren Borrilez of Charlotte; two daughters, Debra Overcash and Gale Overcash, both of Huntersville; four step-sons, John Deese, James R. Deese and David Deese and wife Jan, all of Kannapolis and Kingsley Deese (Mary Baskins) of Rock Hill, SC; two step-daughters, Karey Szucs (Mark Lambert) of Concord and Susan Morrison and husband, Alex of Davidson; also survived by two former daughters-in-law, Wanda Deese of Rock Hill and Sandra Deese of Belmont; and six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Shriners Hospital for Children - Greenville, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
