Harvey Clayton Smith

Mr. Harvey Clayton Smith, 69, of 237 Pethel Street, Kannapolis, died Sunday, May 9, 2004, at NorthEast Medical Center after a year of declining health. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2004, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home. Mr. Smith was born September 20, 1934 in Kannapolis. He was a son of the late Millard Clayton Smith and Ollie Ashby Smith. He retired as a self-employed building contractor. Mr. Smith is survived by two daughters, Sherry Melton and her husband, Danny, of Concord and Tammy Crump and her husband, Jeffrey, of Atlanta, GA; one son, Tim Smith and his wife, Sherrie, of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Nellie Wright of Kannapolis; two brothers, Mack and Roland Smith, both of Kannapolis; and eight grandchildren.
