Hazel Troxell Griffin

September 3, 1921 — April 27, 2006

Mrs. Hazel Troxell Griffin, 84, a resident of Universal Healthcare and Five Oaks Manor in Concord, and formerly of 653 Patterson Avenue, Kannapolis, died Thursday, April 27, 2006, at NorthEast Medical Center. A memorial service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2006, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the VA National Cemetery in Salisbury. The family is making headquarters at the residence. Born September 3, 1921, in Buell, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late John H. Troxell and Edna Cole Troxell. She retired several years ago from the No. 7 Spinning Room of Cannon Mills, Plant One. She was a member of Concord First Assembly. Survivors include her husband, Parks Williams Griffin; two daughters, Donnie Baker of Delaware and Joyce Whitten of Kannapolis; three sons, Jerry Livengood, Chris Livengood and Gary Livengood, all of Kannapolis; three sisters, Tracy McManus and Dorothy Brigman, both of Concord and Juanita Beck of Salisbury; a brother, John Cline Troxell of Kernersville; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be sent to Concord First Assembly, 150 Warren C. Coleman Blvd., Concord, NC 28027.
