Mrs. Hazel Bebber Watts, 98, of 2209 Lane Street, died at CMC-Northeast, Wednesday, February 13, 2008. Funeral services will be conducted at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Februay 16, 2008. The Rev. Tim Jernigan and the Rev. Gerald Moss will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Lady's Funeral Home from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday and from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service. Headquarters for the family will be at the residence on Lane Street. Mrs. Watts was born in Taylorsville in Alexander County on February 3, 1910, a daughter of the late E.L. Bebber and Carrie Thomas Bebber. She retired after many years working for the Jewel Shoppe and Dr. Trull's Chiropractic Clinic. Following retirement, she was a homemaker and worked part time at Coleman's Jewelers. She had been a very active member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ned C. Watts in 1994; an infant son, Barry Milton Watts; a daughter, Lynda W. Sawyer; three brothers, Charlie R. Bebber, Lindsay B. Bebber and Ned W. Bebber; three sisters, Elsie Bebber, Blanche B. Canup and Cecil B. Canup. Survivors include a grandson, Christopher M. Sawyer of Kannapolis and his fianc e Wendy Robinson; a brother, John W. Bebber of Taylorsville; two sisters, Inez B. Johnson of Kannapolis and Mildred B. Meadlock of Taylorsville, who helped as a healthcare giver during her last years at home. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials for Mrs. Watts may be made to Franklin Heights Baptist Church, 526 Wright Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
