Helen Crump Blackmon

Mrs. Helen Crump Blackmon, 86, of 301 Caldwell Street, Kannapolis, NC, died Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at NorthEast Medical Center in Concord. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, April 26, 2002, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Aaron Estes will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The family will be at the home of Mrs. Blackmon at other times. Mrs. Blackmon was born July 5, 1915 in Greenwood County, SC. She was a daughter of the late Rufus Crump and Emma Goldman Crump. She retired in 1978 from the Number Seven Card Room of Cannon Mills Plant One in Kannapolis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Blackmon, who died on February 14, 1981. Mrs. Blackmon is survived by two sons, Jim Blackmon, and his wife, Betty, of Kannapolis, NC and Earl Blackmon, and his wife, Pat, of Salisbury, NC; daughter, Louise B. Donaldson, of Kannapolis, NC; eight grandchildren, Bo Blackmon, Chris Blackmon, Sandra McCorkle, Tammy Steele, Jeff Blackmon, Jon Blackmon, Roger Dale Clark, Jr., Michael James Clark; fourteen great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
