Henry Joseph Anthony Beck

Mr. Henry "Hank" Joseph Anthony Beck, 72, of 4840 Grand Canyon Road NW, died Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County in Kannapolis. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, December 29, 2008, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 9:30 - 11:00 am Monday at Lady's Funeral Home. Mr. Beck was born January 19, 1936 in Newark, NJ. He was the son of the late Henry Joseph Anthony Beck and Emilie Vetter Beck and had three sisters. He graduated from East Orange High School in East Orange, NJ in June 1953. He worked for New Jersey Bell, starting January 25, 1953 and retired from Bell South in 1988 after 35 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Floy Shirley Darcy Beck, in 1976. Mr. Beck is survived by daughter, Grace Ann Ward and husband, Robert; son, Bruce Wayne Beck; grandson, Michael Ward.
