Mr. Henry Valez Leyva, 86, of 1670 Michelle Drive, Kannapolis, died Monday April 23, 2007 at his home. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at St. James Catholic Church, Concord at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will follow in the St. James C Read Obituary
Grandpa, we all love you and miss you!
Grandpa Leyva used to tell me stories of "old" Arizona and his childhood growing up in the mining community of Bisbee, AZ. His love for Arizona is one of the main reasons why I moved to Arizona. Whenever my wife and I are traveling through Bisbee, AZ I always think of Grandpa and his stories of how different life was back then. My Grandpa was a wonderful and kind man.
May he live in the hearts of all those who knew him.
Uncle Henry will be dearly missed. Even though we didn't see Uncle Henry very often, it will be sad to know that we will not hear anymore stories from this easygoing, kind, and gentile spirit. He was always fun to be around and listen to. Our heart and prayers go out to Wynona and the family in the loss of this great man. Uncle Henry, thank you for enriching our lives. You will be missed but certainly not forgotten!

Uncle Henry was a very special person.
He always kept in contact with us and we so enjoyed his rare California visits. He was especially attentive to his sister Angelina with phone calls and cards which brought her great joy. Uncle Henry had a way of making you feel that everything was going to be all right.
Uncle Henry was a very good hearted person and he will never be forgotton.

Uncle Henry always had a way of making me smile. Whenever I saw him, or talked to him on the phone, he would always ask if my homework was done. That was our little joke that we kept going over the years... from the time I was in the 3rd grade until last week, when he told my mom to make sure I was doing my homework. He will be missed, and I only wish my husband and daughter had the opportunity to get to know him while he was still alive. Our thoughts and prayers are with Wynona and the rest of the family. May God bless you and give you comfort in this difficult time.
Uncle Henry always kept in touch with his family in California, even after he moved to NC. He was an uncle that anyone could admire; keenly interested in what everyone was doing and willing to give advice if asked. His sense of humor, easygoing style and most of all his wonderful stories will be remembered by us forever. We loved him and will miss him! Our thoughts and love are with Wynona at this difficult time.
He will be missed by all who knew him, he was a good father and gentleman. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family.
